Safety and Regulations

Alamgeer's food safety procedures are subject to the strictest protocols to ensure that our food supplies remain to the highest standard: meeting and exceeding food safety regulations. Our procedures start from the point of choosing the manufacturer from which we will source our products. We aim to make sure that our suppliers all meet the highest standards in food processing and packaging.

This involves a number of undertakings, some of which are: verifying that manufacturers' HACCP procedures are in place and are fully accredited; ensuring that their health and safety record is clean; ensuring that their ISO standards have been issued and certified.

At Alamgeer we have 2 departments for the handling of food. The first department focuses on food processing from external suppliers, and the second department on packaging. Each department has its own protocols in place to ensure that the food is processed regardless of any external manufacturers' guarantees; this is because we want to ensure the highest standards for our customers to which they have become so accustomed over the last 30 years; for this reason, with our valued customers in mind, we cannot afford to bring Alamgeer's name into disrepute, which is why we maintain the highest food safety standards.

From the stage of storage, to packaging, to the point of distribution; each stage undergoes close observation from our health and safety officer who seeks to ensure that not only our procedures are being implemented, but also that the procedures are efficient for the purpose for which they were designed.

Both departments work in collaboration to ensure that they fulfill their respective roles. Please refer to our page "Alamgeer Health & Safety at Work" to see how some of these standards are met.

Various governmental bodies and accreditations govern the functioning of companies whose primary trade is foodstuffs; two such examples are HACCP and ISO.

HACCP

HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points. HACCP is a method of ensuring that the safety procedures that are in place for the maintenance of health and safety standards are actually being implemented. HACCP also seeks to ensure that the methods are effective to begin with. With strict HACCP protocols in place, the chance of a health and safety hazard occuring is very minimal.

At Alamgeer, our health and safety officer has undertaken the most rigorous safety proceudres to ensure that our HACCP system is as stringent as it can be.

As discussed on the page "Food Safety Regulation", our food processing system has been divided into 2 parts; namely, the processing, and the packaging. This enables us to monitor all processes closer than if they were under 1 collective unit. This also secures against, in the unlikely event of a hazard arising, that a hazard will spill-over into the other department; thus, a hazard is contained and enclosed. This type of subdivision of our HACCP system also allows us to home-in on the hazard quikcer than if the system was united as one whole collective system.

All our HACCP protocols have been externally reviewed by health and safety organisations and they are vigilantly maintained by our health and safety officer.

At Alamgeer, we put the safety of our customers first and foremost, without any compromise. We hope that our customers are happy with the quality of our products and that they feel safe consuming them.
